Silo - Update time!

It's been a while since the last time I posted something on my blog but I get the idea some of you guys are checking this page now and then. Sooo I'm going to make up for it a post a bunch of things I did lately. Starting of with the making of movies I recorded and posted a while ago at the Vimeo Network.

The video's are recordings of the Illustration's i did for the last Chameleon and Champion Sound flyers and they took around 8 to 10 hours each. More of the projects can be found on my Behance page.

Silo - Chameleon October flyer

Here's a fresh one: the flyer for the upcoming Chameleon party straight out of Photoshop! It's so fresh that even some press-files are uploading as I type this. Check it out!

Chameleon is a dance party held at the Kultuurhuis Bosch venue in Arnhem by the Chameleon crew. I already did two other flyers for them before and I thought it was nice to take a fresh aproach on this one. The flyer features a monster that's eating a candyfactory like it's a bag of Skittles and all the work was done in Photoshop and Illustrator. Enjoy!

Silo - Machtig flyer

Next to catching up with my last posts, I had to show some new work too! Check out the Machtig flyer which i did in colaboration with Nik from Drum and Bass stars Noisia.

Machtig is a Drum and Bass party that's being held at the Spimplon venue in Groningen. The party is hosted by the guys from Noisia who happen to establish a respected carreer as some of the best producers in modern Drum and Bass and other music styles as well (check out their myspace for audio!). Since i've known the guys for quite some time and because i happen to spin some Drum and Bass myself now and then they asked me and my mate Frank (aka Hemi) to come over and play a dj-set at their party.

Nik and I thought it would be nice to team up on the flyer for this edition of Machtig, since we were planning to do some work together for quite some while now. Nik came up with the general idea to feature animals on a tank because of the fact that the party is being held at the same day as 'Wereld Dierendag' (or 'World Animals'-day something :P). I started working on the layout and the main visual and Nik added a few animals. After i added some more furry militants i wrapped up the whole thing. Enjoy and keep an eye at my blog for some sweet desktops soon.

Silo - Spektrum XL9 flyer & poster

Another one that's been lying around for a while: The poster and flyer design i did for the upcoming Spektrum XL party featuring LTJ Bukem! It's the 9th edition already, time flies!

As you might know by now Spektrum XL is a party being held by the Future Research crew at the Patronaat venue in Haarlem and this time it features one of the godfathers of soulful drum and bass; LTJ Bukem together with MC Conrad and fresh dutch talent Lenzman.

This time i did all the characterdesign by my own. (The previous characters on the XL7 and XL8 flyers where done in cooperation with my good friend Lizzy. Check out her blog as well! :D) The flyer represents the last and third instalment in my Spektrum XL 'planetary series'. The next Spektrum XL flyers whill contain a new design subject.

Unfortionatly the flyer itself whas being canceled by LTJ Bukem himself, saying it didn't fit in his style. Instead we had to use his own template which isn't 'quite up to my esthetical standards' to put it in a very very nice way. The poster however was printed and can be found around Haarlem and the Randstad area. I recently spoke to Erik from Future Research and they turend ound great! Woohoo!

Silo - Champion Sound 8 flyer

It's been a while since i've posted some new stuff up on my blog, sorry for that! Here's the last flyer i did for Champion Sound featuring New Zealand artist's Concord Dawn.

I've made this one entirely in Photoshop, with exeptence of the textual layout which was done in Illustrator. You can check out a higher resolution version of the ship below. Enjoy!
